26 Connemara Hengste aus verschiedenen Nationen geben sich Stelldichein
Let’s meet at the International Connemara Stallion Show in Heeze on 23th of March 2014!
A few weeks ago the Dutch Connemara Pony Society announced its plans for an International Stallion Show on 23th of March. Behind the scenes the organising committee has been very busy calling, emailing, promoting and deliberating.
So far we can announce the participation of at least six German stallions, several Belgian stallions and off course a number of Dutch stallions. Among the stallions are the Belgian stallion Goliath van de Groenweg and the French stallion Jobic de Coatreal (see photo jumping at Pony Europeans in Freudenberg 2007) who both competed at European Championships!
We are also in contact with Danish and French stallion owners. Some stallion owners not only bring their stallions but also some of their other Connemara’s to compete in the ridden classes.
The jury panel also has an international composition and consists of Jos van der Wal from Holland, Tom Mac Lochlainn from Ireland and Nina Gustafson from Sweden. And furthermore Susan McConnell, the American Secretary of the ICCPS, has announced her presence.
The organising committee is also busy trying to find sponsoring for the event. So far we have affirmation from Horseware Ireland (www.horseware.com) and Effektri (www.effektri.com) Both companies provide us with their products as prizes for the ridden classes. We are hoping to find a sponsor who will donate a premium for the Champion Stallion.
The ridden classes are open to everyone with a Connemara or Connemara crossbreed with a minimum of 25% Connemarablood. Stallions as well as mares and geldings. If you want to join the ridden class, send in your entryform as soon as possible because the number of competitors is limited!
Everyone is invited to visit the show on the 23th of March at Manege Meulendijks in Heeze (near Eindhoven). Entry to the show is free of charge but if you would like to join us for lunch (at a cost of € 10), please send an email to ilja@connemara.nl
